We promote patriotism, do community service, and are champions for children.
Some of our activities include:
- Honor fallen heroes and observe patriotic holidays
- Place flags on the graves of veterans pre–Memorial Day
- March in Grand Rapids Memorial and Veteran’s Day parades
- Perform ceremonial duties and military honors at veteran funerals as Honor Guards
- Send Care Packages to our active-duty military personnel
- Supply food to needy families and serve breakfast to the homeless
- Donate school supplies and winter clothing to area students
- Fund scholarships and other needs, and more.
- Volunteer thousands of hours annually

We are active members of the community we live in and strive to be good citizens.
We need to raise approximately $175,000 to maintain and update our building.
Our Northeastern Post 459 is in need of numerous repairs and some remodeling. It’s where we hold meetings, host fundraisers and other events. We have already been doing some internal fundraising and asked our members for help. And many did. We are doing our best to try to maintain our older building and continue to serve.
On the outside, it’s easy to notice our faded sign, dated awning and our eaves that need painting or new siding. But you may not see that the mortar joints need tuck-pointing. On the inside, you’ll see our ill hanging meeting room dividers that are dragging and damaging the floor. The carpet needs replacing too. You don’t see the need for the updating electrical and plumbing. And on both in and outside, there is need to improve lighting and surveillance. And more.

We are reaching out for Donations of monies or services
We are asking for donations, large or small from our community. We are asking for donations from businesses or corporations. Consider giving in honor of a veteran you knew or just because you want to help a veteran organization continue its mission of serving veterans, children and community.
